What Does Legally Paid Mean And Consist Of? Would I Be An Employee Of The Family?

Being legally paid means you will be a legal employee of the family.  They will collect a I9 and w-4 and you will receive paycheck stubs, a W-2 and be required to file your taxes at the end of the year.  Meraki Nanny Agency is not the employer. The family always is the employer.


How Long Does The Process Take?

Candidates are typically matched with one of our client families within two to six weeks. This process is faster with the candidate’s timely cooperation during the registration process. Each situation is unique, we cannot guarantee an exact time frame. Some factors that influence the time to place a nanny are:  Location, number of available candidates, and the response time from a family after presenting candidates.


What Is The Role Of A Nanny?

A nanny is someone who supports the family in caring for their children.  A nanny will work together with the family, taking full responsibility for the safety, well-being, and development of the children. A nannies specific dutiess will vary based on each family’s individual needs. Some include the child related duties; maintaining the cleanliness of toys and rooms used by the children and preparation of the children's meals.  A nanny could be responsible for driving children to school, play dates, and enrichment classes.


What Is The Pay Range?

Factors to consider are the age and number of children requiring care, the nanny's years of experience and formal education, additional household duties required, number of hours required per week, and the type of hours required (e.g., traditional, overnight, evenings, weekends, etc). An average range is between $18- $25.

Do I Have To Pay Anything To Work With Your Agency?

Partnering with our agency is completely free, except for the cost of CPR/First Aid Certification and TB testing.
